PowerPoint in the Courtroom

This course explores the problems and solutions of using PowerPoint in a courtroom environment to present your case information.  The 8 sessions will provide detailed procedures for insuring that the judge and jury are presented with the evidence and arguments in a compelling, effectively clear and technically problem free manner using PowerPoint in various types of courtroom environments.

The topics of our 8 sessions:

1. PowerPoint Presentations and courtroom technical challenges and how to meet these challenges - this will include hardware needed to insure the jury and judge both hear and see the PowerPoint presentation without problems.

2. How to get your evidence ready for PowerPoint and into PowerPoint slides and how to tweak the audio/video and images so they are clearly heard, visible and concise. What Audio/Visual technology is best and how to use it to get the best digital files for incorporation into your slides.

3. New features in PowerPoint 2019 that are useful in presenting evidence.

4. When presenting the evidence with PowerPoint often you are not certain of the sequence of presentation and how to setup a PowerPoint slideshow that permits you to pick and choose the order of presentation - PowerPoints with a clickable table of contents slide.

5. Certain images of evidence require zooming in upon details and so we will explore how to use PowerPoint's zooming features so the judge and jury can clearly see this detail in so over all picture.  But we will also learn how to create digital images of evidence that are high enough in resolution to enable zooming in upon detail while also seeing the whole picture.

6. Size of fonts and types of typography in PowerPoint along with animation of key words and text.

7. Inserting deposition video clips on slides with significant exhibits on the same slides.

8. Ascertaining the courtroom's technology that is available or absent and how best to configure your PowerPoint for the technical environment with which you will be presented.
